I Am Accepted: Mini-Morning Devotional

December 19, 2017

Rejection. It's not a fun word, and it definitely isn't a pleasant experience. Rejection often causes wounds and sometimes we find ourselves trying to heal those wounds with acceptance elsewhere. Sometimes we chase after all of the wrong things for acceptance. It can influence the car you drive, the career you choose, your dating life, the clothes you wear, and the list goes on. The pain of not being chosen is sometimes so great that we carry that pain and rejection with us. On the flip side of that, being accepted feels good. It feels good to be chosen and accepted into a group. In 1 Peter 2:9 it says that we are a CHOSEN people, which means we have been chosen by God himself. He always accepts us and that will never change. Ephesians 1:4 says that God chose us before the creation of the world. I want you to realize today that you are accepted. Nothing you do will ever change that fact. What I love about the bible saying that God calls us a chosen people, is that we can't perform our way into acceptance. We are simple accepted because of God's love for us.

Maybe you don't feel like you belong anywhere or that you will never be accepted by anyone. God sees you and loves you for you. You are never not good enough for God to love you or accept you. Nothing you do or don't do will keep him from loving you. You are love. You are accepted.
